environmental kids

A great environment is a necessity for future generations. We need to be teaching our kids to turn Programmable Thermostats down and change Furnace Filters on a regular basis. Perhaps we could turn these household responsibilities over to the kids so they could begin to see the importance of protecting our energy. What ways are you guys teaching these values to your kids? I would love to hear them?
